Whether you are an avid skater or just stepping out onto the ice for the first time, the indoor and outdoor ice rinks of Idaho Falls have something for everyone—no matter the level of experience.
The Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation Department operates five ice rinks each winter, one indoor and four outdoor rinks.
The Joe Marmo/Wayne Lehto Ice Arena located in Idaho Falls offers a beautiful indoor facility for ice skaters to enjoy during the winter season.
According to the City of Idaho Falls website, the arena features an 85 ft x190 ft ice surface and various amenities, including: a rental shop, a snack bar and “the best locker room facilities in the state.”
The indoor arena is also home to several classes, clubs and events, including: ice skating lessons, the figure skating club, youth and adult hockey leagues and Laser Light Skate Night.
Admission to the arena is $5.00 for adults and $3.25 for youth and seniors. Additionally, skate rentals are $3.25, if necessary.
Each of the outdoor rinks in Idaho Falls is free to the public, and skate equipment is available for rent at the Joe Marmo/Wayne Lehto Ice Arena. The locations of the outdoor rinks include:
- Tautphaus Park Football Field
- Corner of Rollandet & Softball Drive
- 1991 E. Sunnyside
- 2210 W. Broadway
The hours of operations vary depending on the day of the week and the weather. The rink is open Monday-Friday from 11:00 a.m. to sunset and each Saturday-Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
