The Butterfly Haven
The Butterfly Haven started as a dream for us about 15 years ago. We have grown tomatoes and fresh herbs in our greenhouses for 31 years supplying grocery store chains in the intermountain region. We were not using all of our greenhouse space and decided to turn our dream into reality. Butterflies are important in our world. Butterflies and bees are necessary to pollinate about 75% of the flowering plants. But butterflies are slowly declining because of all of the pesticides we apply to get rid of bugs we don’t want. We hope you will come and enjoy a visit among the Idaho butterflies supported by their host and nectar plants. Listen to the murmur of the waterfall and the song of the canaries. We hope your visit will encourage you to support the need to protect and cultivate butterflies in our communities.
Learn about host plants to support the caterpillars and nectar plants to feed the butterflies in your own neighborhood. We are a family owned and operated business. We raised our four children here and our two daughters are an still an integral part of our business. Say “hi” to Sarah and Susannah when you see them!
