Description

Conveniently situated in Swan Valley along Rainey Creek, the Hansen Guest Ranch offers affordable western style accommodations, a full sit-down breakfast and, most importantly to anglers, easy access to river and stream fishing throughout the entire Swan Valley area.

In addition to guided fishing on the South Fork of the Snake River, the premier dry fly fishery in all of North America, the greater Swan Valley region, stretching from the Conant Grade to the Palisades Dam and the immense Palisades Reservoir, offers anglers an opportunity to fish Pine Creek, Rainey Creek, Palisades Creek, Little Elk Creek, Bear Creek, McCoy Creek and several other smaller tributaries.

Guests at the ranch who have hiked up the Palisades Creek trail have reported catches of 45 to 90 fish, especially noting the large numbers of hook-ups between the two lakes up the trail.

Trolling on the Palisades Reservoir has been great with size 9 Rapalas, and the Fire Tigers and Trout lures have brought in some 5 pounders.

Many anglers now also are securing daily and multi-day licenses on line.  Visit http://fishandgame.idaho.gov to obtain licenses as well as to read about current regulations and other topics that may be of interest.
