The cabin was purchased with just over an acre of ground by William Ethelbert Barton in September 1907 for $525. William's daughter Wanona was born in the cabin in 1910. In the late 1930's and early 40's after she married, Wanona and her husband, George Fowers, enlarged the cabin to it's present size.
The Fowers bought the home in July 1941, and eventually began to rent rooms nightly. They also opened a cafe in the present living room, and called the establishment the Pinecrest Motel. Charles and Rosemary Frantz purchased the motel in July 1972 and ran it as such for nearly twenty years. Their daughter Nancy and her husband, John Nielson, bought it from them in June 1991.
We offer variety in our nine rooms. Our largest is a two-room suite with four beds (one queen and three doubles). Others have either two double beds or one queen bed. These rooms each have en-suite bathrooms and contain a microwave, a refrigerator, a flat-screen cable TV, and Wi-Fi. Three rooms share a bath down the hall, but have the same amenities available. Two of these rooms each have a queen bed, and one has a double and a twin. Give us a call at 208-354-2774 or 800-354-2778 and let us know what you need.
Our regular rates range from $75 to $85 per night depending on the room and the number of occupants. The rooms with the shared bath are cheaper. Our two-room suite is available for $130. Pets are $10 more nightly.
If you have other needs, please let us know and we will strive to meet them. We have two rollaway beds and a crib available at no extra charge. Our large back yard can be reserved for special events.
